Children live in their own world. A world of starry-eyed curiosity, endless imaginative play, and boundless energy in every hop, skip and jump. Their natural world doesn’t follow rigid rules and there’s no feigning authenticity: every endearing emotion will pour out, unfiltered and honest in its expression. This is what my style of child and sibling photography nurtures and transforms into bespoke artwork.

Each frame absorbs their personality, fleeting thoughts and how they’re interacting with the world in that split-second moment. There’s no expectation for them to “behave”, perform or pose on camera – my only gentle encouragement is for them to explore, discover and show me what they notice about the light and landscape around them.

Which is where my props tend to come into the picture. Vintage toys with curious working parts, old bicycles in ornate shapes and the simplicity of nostalgic objects that keep thechildren’s portrait session engaging and focussed on them.

My approach to children’s and siblings portraits is light, childlike and mirrors their adorable reverence for fun. By carefully observing their intrinsic story, I’m able to produce bespoke storytelling portraits that are held dear and passed down for generations.
From capturing the raw photographs to hand-editing each individual image – you’ll receive a vibrant retelling of this childlike stage with classic composition evocative of heirloom artwork that must be printed to be wholeheartedly appreciated.

Being able to adorn your family home with heirloom portraiture of your children is a gift to them – instilling much-loved belonging while protecting their softhearted sense of identity. During our in-person viewing appointment, I’ll provide guidance on albums, print sizing, frames, placement and positioning so you can focus on the image of your children careering through the kitchen, elatedly pointing at themselves with summerlike smiles.

Your children’s portraits are so wonderful because it is unlike everyone else’s. I’m so thankful to have these sibling photographs to look back on and see my children for exactly who they are. Their hair and eye colour, their skin tone and the natural environment they explored in are created so beautifully and in real-life colour!

Instead of an overwhelming gallery with hundreds of duplicates, I spend countless hours curating a considered collection of portraits – each with their own emotion, breathtaking lighting, focal point and rich colour composition. During an in-person presentation, you’ll preview your digital images and be guided through artwork selection that’s deeply personal and fits with your existing home styling.

I’ll hand deliver your artwork prints four to six weeks later – your children’s legacy framed through a lens that’s nostalgic and brimming with imagination and endearing emotion.

03. Guided Portrait Selection

Children's portraits are unhurried with plenty of time for them to settle in, feel comfortable with me (and the camera) and begin to playfully create candid moments. Some children are busier and tiny toddling attention spans make for a quick one-hour session – others are more relaxed, meaning we can wander slowly through the motions. I follow their lead.

For me, this isn’t just sibling photography – it’s an expression of love and creativity; representing what it means to form connections with those around you.

Because of this, I want my families to fall completely in love with every photograph. So, if you decide not to purchase any digital images or artwork, I will refund your session fee in full.
