Sibling Portrait Photographer
I have photographed these beautiful kids many times. Their mum has made it a mission to book a Perth Sibling Portraits or Family Session at least once a year so she can create a visual storybook of their childhood. I truly believe this is one of the most important gift you can give to your children. They may forget the toys you buy them or even the holidays you take them on but they will always appreciate beautiful portraits of themselves and their childhood. Every time they see these pictures, they will be able to see glimpses of their childhood and be grateful that you made it happen for them.
It was middle of Perth summer and mum wanted a magical location preferably with flowers. At first, I thought it was going to be impossible to find a spot with flowers in January which is of course very hot and dry in Perth. If you are after locations with flowers, we are definitely spoilt for choices during the later winter/ spring months but summer here is a totally different story. Still, I took it as a challenge and drove around Swan Valley to see if I can find a suitable spot. Even if I could find a little patch of land with flowers, it would be enough to bring some colour to the images. Thankfully, I found a empty block in Guildford full of these gorgeous yellow flowers which ended up being the perfect location for this Perth Sibling Portraits.
If you have two kids under 5, you will know that things don't always go as planned! Still, it's important to have a plan but as a child photographer, you need to learn to go with the flow and make the most of the short attention span that little kids and toddlers can have. Our plan was to have 2 different outfits and and use two different areas of the location to create two completely different looks and I think it worked out well.
For the first set of pictures, we definitely wanted the focus on the kids so we chose neutral outfits and kept the background simple and without distractions. This gorgeous pink Dollcake dress in available in my client's closet in size 3.
Giving kids something to hold or do usually keeps them still for a few seconds, long enough to get some cute shots.
We then quickly changed the kids into a second set of outfits that tied in well with the yellow flowers for some whimsical portraits.
The Bespoke Children Sessions are focussed on your kids and that is what I do for the majority of your session but I do offer parents to get in for a few portraits at the end of the session. Most parents love the opportunity to get in the pictures with their little ones.
When you hire me, my service doesn't end at digital files! I specialise in creating heirloom artwork for families to suit their space and home. Mum wanted framed prints for each kid's room and a beautiful heirloom album to showcase all of the pictures from their session.
