Heritage Children Photography in Perth

For the longest time, I have had this idea of creating children portraits that was somehow able to connect children with their cultural heritage. So, when this beautiful mum got in touch with me to create portraits of her daughter and her cousin in a traditional Polish outfits, I was over the moon!! The mum herself is Japanese and her hubby is of course Polish. Isn't this what modern families look like? As we marry and have children with people from different cultures and races, this scenario becomes more and more common. It's not a bad thing, though, blending races and cultures. In fact, it gives us even more to discover; even more to celebrate!

Why is it important to teach our kids about their cultural heritage?

A child's cultural heritage has so much to teach them. By learning about their ethnic roots, they learn about geography, history, cultural, food, language, human interconnectedness and so much more. The world is fast becoming a global village with the advent of technology and travel. It is important to keep our cultural heritage alive. Let us teach our children to embrace and celebrate this.

Traditional costumes, outfits and dress have such an important role when it comes to our culture. A photoshoot in a traditional outfit can be an amazing and learning experience for your child. A wall portrait of your child wearing the traditional outfit and displayed in your home can have a massive impact on how they see themselves growing up. It will help them learn about their ethnicity and be proud of where they have come from.
